Applied Arts (Year 2)

The second year of the Visual Arts course you will get to pick a pathway. If you choose a pathway in Applied Arts you will be studying Jewelry design, surface decoration, printmaking, book making, ceramics and 3D design craft. Underpinning the course is drawing, use of colour, exploration of materials, techniques and processes, and a wide cultural and contextual awareness. Visual recording using specialist and found materials is an essential element and members are expected to take full advantage of this freedom in order to bring something original to their portfolio.

What qualification will I gain?

UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art and Design (Applied Art)

Entry requirements?

4 A*-C including English and Maths at GCSE
Interview, Portfolio and interview task

Formal academic requirements may be waived for mature applicants but Portfolio and Interview still apply.

What costs are involved?

Tuition Fees:
16-18 - free
19+ Advanced Learning Loan - £4250

Exam and Registration Fees (payable by all aged 19 and over): £200

Other Costs (payable by all students): £150 Annual Company Contribution
