Dance & Musical Theatre
The Level 2 Dance Diploma is a full time unique one-year dance training programme that introduces dancers to dance training and performance following the Miskin Theatre's unique industry training model. It is ideal for you if you are new to dance training.
The programme will encourage you to gain a broad variety of skills developing your dance technique and performance skills, culminating in performances at the in-house Miskin Theatre and beyond. You will participate in ballet, contemporary, choreography, jazz and tap classes alongside complementary musical theatre classes to support your ability to perform in a range of dance productions. You will also learn about the different employment opportunities in the performing arts industry.
Our Study Programme includes opportunities for you to develop your English and Maths skills as required. You may be expected to complete either functional skills or GCSE qualifications as part of your course depending on your GCSE results.
As part of this programme you may be able to complete ISTD Classical Ballet, Modern Theatre Dance and Tap examinations (additional costs apply).
What qualification will I gain?
UAL Level 2 Diploma in Performing & Production Arts (Dance)
Some learners will be given the opportunity to complete ISTD Classical Ballet, Modern Theatre Dance and Tap examinations (additional costs apply).
Entry is by audition and interview. Applicants need to demonstrate a genuine interest and experience in dance & have good physical/dance skills. 4 GCSE’S grade E (New graded GCSE 2) and above or performing Arts Level 2 equivalent.
What progression options will I have?
Progression onto the Level 3 Diploma in Performing Arts: Dance (Year 1).

19+ - £1650
Exam and Registration Fees (payable by all aged 19 and over): £170
Other Costs (payable by all students): £75 Annual Theatre Pass

How will I be assessed?
The course is production based and operates out of the Miskin Theatre. Learners are assessed in a variety of ways including studio-based and performance assessments, course work and presentations
