Business (Year 1)
This is the ideal course if you want to develop the skills and knowledge needed to pursue a future career in Business, or if you’re intending to apply to university.
Level 3 Business is studied via two single year programmes and covers various aspects of Business, from Finance and Economics to Marketing and Event Management.
During the first year of the course, you will study the Extended Certificate in Business, which consists of four Units including: -
- Exploring Business*
- Developing a Marketing Campaign*
- Personal and business Finance*
- Recruitment and Selection

You can progress onto the Extended Diploma in Business in the second year, studying more specialist Units such as: -
- Managing an Event
- Market Research
- Principles of Management
- Business Decision Making
- International Business
- Team Building in Business
- Visual Merchandising
- Digital Marketing
- Training and Development
What qualification will I gain?
BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Business
5 GCSEs grades 9-4 (A*-C) including English, Mathematics and academically relevant subjects, such as Science, History, Geography, ICT or BTEC Level 2 First Extended Certificate in Business grade Merit or above with GCSE grade C (4) or above in English and Mathematics
What progression options will I have?
Successful completion of the Extended Certificate at merit grade supports progression on to the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business (equivalent to 3 ‘A’ levels)
