Art About Within our Arts provision we offer a range of specialist Level 1 Art & Design, Level 2 Art & Design and Level 3 Art & Design Crafts (inc Fine Art and Applied Art). We also offer Level 2 & L3 Fashion courses and L2- L5 Photography courses, that are taught by professional artists and designers. Our courses in the Arts allow you to experiment and develop your creativity through a range of exciting projects which will allow you to develop and become the artist/designer you wish to be. You will work in dedicated studios with up-to-date equipment and facilities. Our experienced staff continue to maintain strong links with the industry and you benefit from their expertise. The Level 1 and Level 2 Diplomas in Art & Design courses provide a pathway for progression onto a Level 3 specialism of your choice. We have a high rate of students who achieve a place on the university course of their choice. The majority of our learners go on to University to continue their development within their specific media pathway. What will I learn? You will learn how to be a professional Artist or Designer or Photographer; with the skills, confidence and discipline, to progress on to university and/or your chosen career. What qualification will I gain? UAL Level 1 Diploma in Art UAL Level 2 Diploma in Art UAL Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Art and Design UAL Level 4 Foundation Diploma in Art and Design. On completion of your course you can go on to some of the most prestigious Arts courses and universities, including; UAL, Goldsmiths, UCA, London College of Fashion and Ravensbourne, while others go on to do freelance work in the industry. Universities expect students to have studied the UAL Level 4 Foundation Diploma in Art and Design before entering their Degree programmes. In fact, this diploma is recognised across the UK as the primary entry route to the best courses at the most prestigious universities, with more than 15,000 students completing the qualification each year. What costs are involved? You will need to pay a £150 per year Company contribution fee, which supports the Industry Studio Environment based costs. Full-time Further Education courses are free for students aged 16-18, you may have to pay some or all of your fees if you are aged 19 plus, but please see our Student Finance page for further information. Entry requirements? You must have a real passion for your chosen specialism and commitment to The Miskin Arts ethos; entry is by informal interview, school report and portfolio. Four GCSEs 9-4 grade including English and Maths are required for the Level 3 Diplomas. The Level 4 Foundation Diploma requires 1 A Level or a Level 3 in an art or design relevant subject plus 3 GCSEs at grade 4 or above as a minimum, including Maths & English.
