Business and Finance
Our Business and Finance courses have a high level of achievement and progression into employment and higher education and have extensive recognition amongst employers. Qualified staff have first-hand industry knowledge, offering a mature learning environment, where students are valued.
The College holds Kent’s first fully accredited teaching initiative for Accounting and Financial Services. The Dartford campus has a Centre of Vocational Excellence and Career Academy in Finance, which is a key part of the College’s workforce development strategy. This is in conjunction with the Learning and Skills Council, to meet the requirements of employers locally, regionally and nationally. You can follow our Career Academy on Twitter.
We offer BTEC Diploma courses in Business at Levels 2 to 3. At Level 3 you will have the opportunity to apply for an Internship with the Career Ready program. Those who are successful can undertake a period of six weeks paid work experience at Blue Chip companies situated in Canary Wharf or other similar locations.
AAT Accountancy courses start at Level 2 with progression available to Level 3. AAT courses prepare you for employment in accountancy. Many of our students secure excellent posts with local and national accountancy firms and further their careers by undertaking part-time courses alongside employment.
NKC offers a number of excellent part-time courses, such as; AAT Levels 2, 3 and 4 in Accountancy, CILEx Level 3 Certificate/Diploma in Law and Practice and CILEx Level 6 Professional Higher Diploma in Law and Practice.
What will I learn?
In addition to your main qualification you will learn essential business and employment related skills such as; meeting deadlines, working as a team, interpersonal communication, negotiating skills and many more. Our business and accountancy courses are designed to prepare you for the world of work and enable you to progress in your future career development.
What qualification will I gain?
Depending on the course you choose you can gain AAT Level 2, 3 and 4 in Accounting. A BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Business and a BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary/ Extended Diploma in Business. CILEx Level 3 Certificate/Diploma in Law and Practice, the CILEx Level 6 Professional Higher Diploma in Law and Practice. What progression options will I have?
With our courses you are able to progress onto employment within the business, finance or retail sectors. Alternatively you can continue onto a university programme.

What costs are involved?
Full-time further education courses are free for students aged 16-18, you may have to pay some or all of your fees if you are aged 19 plus, but please see our Student Finance page for further information. If you are enrolling on a part-time or higher education course, fees are applicable.
If you are enrolling on a Level 2 course you will need relevant GCSE qualifications, if higher than a Level 3, in most cases, you will need the Level below to move up. Please see individual course descriptions for accurate information.
