About

Miskin Media offers you two distinct pathways set within a professional environment to enable you to develop your career within the creative media industry. 

We have two Level 3 pathways including; 

TV & Film covers all the crew and production roles like filmmaker, director, editor or camera operator within the TV and Film industry.

Digital Journalism for those interested in presenting, radio, journalism and creative writing. 

 We also offer a one year Level 2 Media course, where you will experience and develop skills across both TV & film and Digital Journalism. You will be working with a highly experienced team of industry practitioners, with real clients, in a fast-paced dynamic and exciting environment.
 
All of our courses will help you develop a digital portfolio which will improve and benefit your chances of gaining work in the relevant industries or going to university in the future.

What qualification will I gain?

 

UAL L2 Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology

UAL L3 Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology

UAL L3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology

UAL Professional Diploma in Technical and Production Practice for the Creative Industries

 

What progression options will I have?

Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma

Higher Education, studying on BA Hons and Foundation Degree level programmes.

Progression onto our Foundation Degree in Digital Media Production or Interactive Multimedia.

There are also routes directly into junior positions within the industry and apprenticeships available.

 

Some trainees choose to stay with us at NKC and complete their Professional Diploma in Technical and Production Practice for the Creative Industries

 

What costs are involved?

All Miskin students must pay £150 company contribution fee. Tuition for full-time further education courses are free for students aged 16-18, you may have to pay some or all of your fees if you are aged 19 plus, but please see the Student Finance page for further information. If you are enrolling on the Higher Education, tuitions fees are applicable.

Entry Requirements?

Level 2

4 GCSEs at grade 3 (D in old grading system) or above which must include English and/or Maths.

Level 3 Diploma

5 GCSEs at grade 4 (C in old grading system) or above which must include English and/or Maths or a Level 2 Diploma in Media at merit grade with ideally GCSE English and Maths at minimum Grade 4 or equivalent.

Level 3 Extended Diploma

UAL Level 3 Diploma in Creative Media Production Technology

Level 4

Applicants must be 18 years or older and have achieved a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Media at merit grade, or Level 3 Apprenticeship in Media, A-Levels (C and above, including Media). Ideally GCSE English and Maths at minimum Grade 4 or equivalent.
