About Our Personal Training & Sports Therapy Department has exceptional facilities at the Dartford Campus, including a large multi-purpose sports hall, sports fields, a strength and conditioning room and fitness centre. Our Sports Massage suite/clinic provides an excellent simulated work experience environment for all students involved in the Personal Training and Sports Science programmes. Personal Training and Sport Science has seen impressive growth in the last ten years and continues to support the educational and sporting needs of students, which attracts people of all abilities from North Kent and South London. The personal training industry is now worth £5 Billion and continues to grow with many people employing personal trainers to help them achieve their fitness and weight goals. Learners will need to be 'people centred', dynamic and good communicators. We have progression opportunities available on to our HNC Sports Level 4 programme. What will I learn? Personal Training & Sports Therapy courses remain vocational in delivery and where possible, practical performance is preferred. There is around 60% theoretical work and 40% practical. What qualification will I gain? A range of academic and vocational courses are available, which support university applications and employment within the sports industry. You can progress through the Levels, then either on to employment within the Sports industry. You can also progress on to university, or on to our Higher Education program; the Foundation Degree in Sports Studies. What costs are involved? There’s a kit list available, students will be provided this information prior to enrolment. Full-time Further Education courses are free for students aged 16-18, you may have to pay some or all of your fees if you are aged 19 plus, but please see our Student Finance page for further information. If you are enrolling on a Higher Education course, fees are applicable. Entry Requirements For NCFE Level 2 you will need three D/3 Grades, and for NCFE Level 3, four A-C/9-4 including Maths and English.
