Want to work in a fast-paced industry? The Travel industry is one of the fastest growing industries nationally and offers exciting and fulfilling career opportunities, both nationally and abroad. The South East Tourist Board predicts that 10,000 jobs are likely to be created in tourism over the next five years. Our reputation with major tour operators and travel agencies is excellent. 

We offer practical courses that focus on specific industry areas and developing skills to help you gain employment in your dream job. We offer a unique learning environment with extensive resources and the latest facilities to enhance your learning experience. Our resources include a mock-up aeroplane for a real-life cabin crew learning experience. 

Our courses are taught by industry professionals, which gives you first-hand knowledge and experience from people who have worked in the industry to enable you to develop to your full potential.

What will I learn? 

A wide range of units, such as 'Investigating the Travel and Tourism Sector' and 'European Destinations' and 'Retail Travel Options', which will introduce you to different areas of the industry. You’ll gain experience and qualifications leading to a variety of jobs across the travel and tourism sector, including cabin crew and holiday representatives. 

What qualification will I gain? 

The NCFE Level 2 Diploma will enable you to achieve a qualification in customer service, aviation operations on the ground, cabin crew and holiday reps. The BTEC Level 2 and Level 3 Extended Diploma in Travel and Tourism are also recognised qualifications, which will enable you to progress on to university. The HNC in Travel and Tourism Management is a standalone qualification, which is equivalent to years 1 and 2 of a bachelors degree and you can top this up to a full degree at university.For explanations of our qualifications, please see our Qualification Explained page.

What progression options will I have? 

You can progress on to the next level or to on to employment within the travel and tourism industry. Upon successful completion of the full Level 3 Extended Diploma, you can also apply to university.  

What costs are involved?

We estimate that day trips and residential trips will cost approximately £300. All trips are subject to some change in price and we will give full details of any trip prior to booking. Full-time further education courses are free for students aged 16-18, you may have to pay some or all of your fees if you are aged 19 plus, but please see our Student Finance page for further information. If you are enrolling on a part-time or Higher education course, fees are applicable.

Entry requirements? 

For the Level 2 you will need a minimum of two 3 in English and Maths. For the Level 3 you must have five GCSEs grades 9-4; including English and Maths and/or a travel and tourism qualification. For the HND you will need to have successfully completed a Level 3 course.
