McBrides Chartered Accountants Apprentice Case Study

4th February 2020

It’s Apprenticeship Week! Find out more about apprenticeships from the view of a current apprentice.

Isabelle Bromfield has completed her Business Administration apprenticeship Level 2 and 3 and is still working as a member of staff at McBrides Chartered Accountants.

Why did you choose to take an apprenticeship?

I chose the apprenticeship route due to thinking it was the best route into the working world, the fact that you can earn and learn at the same time is a huge benefit and was very appealing to me. It is also a great way to gain qualifications. Doing an apprenticeship enhances your skills in various ways.

Thoughts on the apprenticeship scheme?

It is a brilliant way forward. The scheme helps young people who are ambitious and want to go into work straight from school. McBrides has been a supportive employer and the role has been diverse giving me the opportunity to work in various areas of the business, complementing my study.

What skills have you developed?

• Teamwork
• Confidence
• Timekeeping
• Administration skills

Has the college helped you?

The college has helped me in various ways from my monthly lessons, providing me with revision and the exams to test my knowledge. Also, my teacher has provided me with amazing support and always been willing to help me when I need it.

Would you encourage apprenticeships, if so why?

From my personal experience I would encourage apprenticeships because I have had so many benefits from my apprenticeship and believe that it is a fantastic opportunity to set you off for your future.

Apprenticeships are a great way of gaining a qualification, earning your own income and obtaining the relevant skills to support you in succeeding in your chosen industry.  If you would like further information about our apprenticeship programmes, then please visit our Apprenticeship Page.
