Your Choice, Your Career, Your Future

25th September 2017

It’s time to start thinking to the future – North Kent College has just opened applications to their new 2018 course offering and prospective students can now apply online to start a course in September 2018.

The College will welcome prospective students at forthcoming Open Days on Tuesday 17th October at the Dartford Campus and Thursday 19th October at the Gravesend Campus from 3pm – 7:30pm for a September 2018 start.

Curriculum staff and current students will be available at the Open Days to talk about the courses on offer and give first hand experiences of College life. Student support and finance services as well as careers advisers and the apprenticeship team will also be present to offer guidance and support. A new online careers tool lets prospective students take a look at local job vacancies, salary levels and what qualifications can take them into their chosen career.

Rhiannon Hughes, Deputy Principal, who will be giving presentations at the Open Days, says “Our Open Days are always popular because they give young people and their parents the chance to see the College and all our courses in action. Whilst our staff can talk knowledgably about each course and our wonderful facilities, young people can also hear straight from their peers about College life from current students. A vocational course really is the viable alternative to staying at school to complete A Levels, as they give young people the hands on experience to progress into a career or onto University. We find that many parents don’t realise that a level 3 course at North Kent College is equivalent to A-levels and gives students the UCAS points they will need to continue to University – we’d therefore encourage you to come and see us if you currently have a child in years 10 or 11”.

Not only does North Kent College offer Further Education vocational courses for 16-18 year olds, but also HNDs, Access to Higher Education courses, Apprenticeships and Degree level programmes, which all prepare individuals for when they enter into a working environment. The Open Days are also perfect for people who are interested in getting back into education to discover the flexible entry requirements.

You can pre-register your attendance for the Open Days on their website as well as find out more information about the College and the courses on offer.
