A North Kent College student has a date with destiny after qualifying for a national final to find the next major British rap star.
Professional Writing student Jeffrey Nti – who performs as a Hip-Hop artist under the name of Nana Blacks – takes to the stage at Dingwalls in Camden Town, London in London on the evening of 8 October; performing his music in the Open Mic UK competition which is supported and funded by the country’s leading record labels.

The prize for the eventual winner is a recording contract; which for Jeffrey means the chance to take music he currently sells via the online site Bandcamp and re-record it with the help of professional studios.
Jeffrey’s tutor at college – Neil Nixon – said; “Jeffrey’s whole class are behind him in this, he has shown a passion for his music since he first joined the course.”
Jeffrey added: “I am so grateful for the amount of respect and the warm welcome from all the people in Dartford especially my class mates and tutors who have been very supportive since we first met. I’ve been studying at North Kent College now for a couple of years now and it has been a life changing experience.”
