Student poised for World Skills final in Russia

7th December 2017

NKC is full of excitement as Tom Sach has earned himself a place on the World Skills Motor Vehicle Team. The 20-year-old achieved success in previous heats of the competition during his studies, and will now form part of the Worldskills UK training squad in preparation for Euroskills 2018 in Budapest and the Worldskills International in Kazan, Russia in 2019.  Held every two years, the WorldSkills Competition is one of the biggest vocational education and skills excellence events in the world.

“Tom Sach has conquered the ultimate achievement. This is something that colleges and competitiors strive for. Tom worked through each task and represented North Kent College exceptionally well” said Head of Skills Competition Development, Joanne Timms.

Speaking of his time studying as a Motor Vehicle Apprentice at NKC, Tom said: “I was supported for 4 years by my tutors (Andy, Darren & Stuart) at North Kent College, so not only would I recommend an Apprenticeship, but also North Kent College as the place to study. If someone is willing to learn, North Kent College have got all the tools to help show you the way”.

The staff and students at NKC are all behind you, Tom.  Good luck as you progress to the final!
