Meet Connor Farrer, who completed a Hospitality Diploma with us before being selected for a prestigious apprenticeship at the Ritz London.
Now completed he continues at the Ritz and now is a Chef de Partie. When asked why he enjoys his job, he commented, “I enjoy being a chef as there is a new challenge every day, from the ingredients we all work with to the new cooking methods coming from today’s modern cuisine, no two days are ever the same, and you work with people with the same goal and ambition, to cook good food and make the customer happy. The industry is all about cooking good quality food, and to make the customers happy, there will be tough times and good times.”
What did Connor learn from his apprenticeship?
“I’ve learnt a lot about myself as a person, not to mention the cooking techniques and life skills. I have achieved a huge amount. I was part of the team that helped the Ritz gain it’s Michelin star, I’ve achieved the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, Young Chef of the Year, and the Young National Chef of the Year, where I came in 3rd place. There are some truly fantastic opportunities to develop as a professional chef in many places."
We are so proud of Connors achievements- what an inspiration!
