If you are in Year 12 and are having second thoughts about sixth form, don’t worry as you can swap to North Kent College at either our Dartford, Gravesend or Tonbridge campus for Year 13. 

It doesn’t matter what you are studying now, we have many options for you to choose from and our vocational courses will give you the skills you need to gain employment.

You can swap to a Level 3 course which is equivalent to A-Levels and will allow you to progress onto university afterwards (our Level 3 courses can take 1 year and others may take 2 years to complete). 

What are vocational courses?
Vocational courses differ from A-Levels as they give you the skills employers are looking for and need within their business. Vocational courses allow you to start work at 18 or gives you the option to progress onto university if you want to continue expanding your knowledge and skills.

At NKC we ONLY offer A-Levels at our Tonbridge campus- so if you are happy and want to continue with A Levels, then do not worry as you can do this at Tonbridge with us. However, if you want a different style of learning, to gain skills so you can move onto employment, then check out our vocational courses we offer here. 

We have hundreds of courses to choose from covering subjects from Arts, Business and Computing, Construction and Engineering, Sport, Hospitality and Service Industries. Once you have found a course you are interested in, make sure you check which campus that course is based at, as well as what our previous students have said about that course and their experience here at NKC. 

We also have other academic options for our students such as apprenticeships, industry placements, Higher Education courses and more. We want our students to get the most out of their education which is why we have invested in commercial standard facilities, so they can have a true experience of the equipment that they may be using in their future careers. Also, our tutors have worked in the industry that they specialise in, so you will learn from the very best and have industry connections.
