Freshers Week is back for this academic year – and better than ever!
New to College? Getting into the student way of life? Freshers’ Fair is coming your way! Freshers’ Fair injects fun at the start of the new academic year.
It is a fantastic opportunity for you to come together with all the students on your campus and enjoy a day of fun activities, whilst having the chance to find out information from the companies and information stands at the event.
When is Freshers’ Fair?
Here at North Kent College our Freshers’ Fairs are being held on the following dates:
Gravesend- Monday 20th September, Front Car Park (12-2pm)
Tonbridge- Tuesday 21st September, Front Plaza (11am-2pm)
Dartford- Thursday 23rd September, Green in Middle of the campus (12-2pm)
Local organisations will be attending the fairs and providing demonstrations with appearances from the fire service and the road safety unit. There will be fun activities that you can participate in, including inflatables, games, and competitions. As well as this there will be a giveaway on our Instagram account so keep your eyes on our social media accounts. Make sure to follow us on Instagram at @northkent_college so you can get involved!
You will be able to find out about the Students’ Union, Student Financial Support, Student Counselling, and upcoming events.?
It is also a great time to come along if you have an interest in becoming an ambassador or becoming part of the student union.
What’s the SU?
This is YOUR College, and we want you to have your say!
The Students’ Union (SU) is run by you, for you and is affiliated to the National Union of Students (NUS). It’s made up of students who form an Executive Committee, Student Governors, Class Reps and most importantly... you!
SU Elections will run every year, so watch out for election details whether you are running for a position or voting. If you have an idea for an event that you think students would like, then join the Students’ Union, or simply let them know.
You and your finances
Student Financial Support is available for any student to apply for. This funding is available to help eligible students with buying books, materials, kit and equipment, travel to college and more.
Student Counselling
We understand that education isn’t always straight forward, which is why we have our counselling service available for anyone who feels that something in their personal life or at college is having an impact on their quality of life or education.
