Getting to the Gravesend Campus
Discounted Arriva Travel
All students at North Kent College can benefit from reduced travel costs with Arriva buses when purchasing a 4 weekly Thameside or South East Student Saver ticket. Also for 16-21 year olds only a discounted annual ticket payable by monthly direct debit using the college's promotional code.
The Thameside Student Saver ticket allows you to have unlimited travel within the Thameside zone which covers Crockenhill, Swanley, Greenhithe and the Gravesend area.
The South East Saver ticket allows travel on all Arriva services in Kent and East Sussex; excluding services operated by Transport for London and Park and Ride services.
This is available to students travelling from the London Boroughs to Gravesend and students from the Medway area travelling to Gravesend and Dartford.
The South East and Thameside Student Saver tickets are only available online. To buy your tickets online at the special rate, you will need to use a promotional code, which is available from 30th August 2016 from main reception at North Kent College. For information on prices please download the Arriva Saver Prices or go to the Arriva website which includes a secure link to purchase tickets.
Please note: You will need to show your student ID when using the ticket to travel. Please ensure when buying your ticket that your ID is valid for the period of travel covered by your ticket.
Student Oyster Cards for £20 a Year
If you live within the London Boroughs you can apply for one of the Student Oyster Card schemes to travel to Dartford, via London Buses. The 16+ Oyster Card will cost £20 and will give you to FREE travel on the London buses for the year and half price adult fares to Dartford on the rail network. If you are 18 as of the 31st August you can still apply for the 16+ Oyster Card as long as you are still in full time education.
The 18+ Student Oyster Card will cost £20 to register and will give you 30% off London bus travel for the year, when purchasing a Travel Card.

Please be aware that although you will get a discount on bus and train travel, Gravesend Station is outside of Zone 8 and London buses only run as far as Bluewater, although, it is possible to continue your travel with Arriva buses from this destination.
KCC 16+ Travel Card
Students who are 19 or under as at 31st August 2016, and are residents of Kent (i.e. household which pays Council Tax to a Kent District Council for KCC Services). Applications may be made online directly to Kent County Council here by the 15th July at the latest to receive the Travel Card for the start of term, applications may be made from the 1st June. The cost of a Travel Card for the full academic year (1st September- 31st August) is £400. If you apply later than this you may wish to consider applying for the Travel Card to start from Term 2 at a reduced cost of £340, and purchase an Arriva Student Saver ticket, using the College promotional code for the first term.
The Travel Card will be sent to the college and the student will be able to collect the Travel Card from the college reception once the student is enrolled and full payment has been made via debit or credit card.

Travelling by Train
The closest train station to the Gravesend campus is Gravesend Station. You can catch a 190, 480, 490 bus from the station to the Gravesend campus. To plan your journeys by train please visit the Southeastern Railways and Transport for London websites.
Travelling by car
If driving to the Gravesend campus, you can take the Gravesend East junction on the A2 and head towards Gravesend. Follow Valley Drive, all the way to the end, where you will come to the Old Road East traffic light junction, and turn right. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit, you will see the entrance to the Gravesend campus on the left.

We have ample FREE parking available at the Gravesend campuses. However, we would suggest using public transport if you can, to help the environment and ease traffic congestion.
