Creative Media - 3D Animation & VR

Equivalent to 3 A Levels, a total of 72-168 UCAS points, depending on grades achieved.

Immersive technologies are expected to play a significant role in many industries in the future and 3D animation and visual effects is already an ever-growing industry. This course gives you the opportunity to work with emerging technologies in diverse and rapidly growing industries, filling the skills gap currently required.

This 3D Animation and VR course is a balanced mix of technical and creative skills, learning how to design and model characters and environments in 3D but then presenting them in interactive and immersive ways. From this course, you will get to experience the whole pipeline from gathering influences and designing concepts for a brief, to modelling and animating them in 3D before presenting them in virtual or augmented reality.

The course is delivered through hands-on experience with industry standard software, such as the Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop and After Effects, as well as Autodesk Maya, Unity and Unreal Engine on high specification computers with dual monitors. Being part of Creative Studios, you will also have access to our hub of 3D printers, graphics tablets, VR headsets and mobile devices for AR. Our ethos is to align with the creative industries as much as possible meaning that our trainees develop skills that meet industry needs whilst becoming familiar with the pipelines they follow as well as engaging with live client briefs, opportunities for internships and guest speakers.
