Acting (TV & Film) (Year 2)

This qualification is the 2nd year of a two-year Extended Diploma in Performing & Production Arts (Acting TV & Film). This year will continue to help develop disciplines of acting skills, as well as screen performance technique for those who have an interest and passion for performing on screen. It will give you the opportunity to gain the qualifications, skills and experience to progress in the Performing Arts Industry or in any industry you wish to go on to study.

This course provides a professional training in theatre, and acting for TV and Film. The Miskin is run by experienced industry professionals who will work with you to develop your skills and confidence to support you in the craft of acting.

We will provide a training that is designed to help develop your skills specifically for screen as well as continuing to embed your core theatre training.

The Miskin will support you in becoming a well-trained, clear-thinking performer ready to take your first steps into the industry or higher education. You will also develop the skills that all employers are looking for, including team work, self-confidence, communication skills, self-motivation and the ability to meet targets.

This Study Programme includes opportunities for you to develop your English and maths skills as required. You will be expected to complete either functional skills or GCSE qualifications as part of your course depending on your GCSE results.

All assignments are modelled on professional practice, learners will also have the opportunity to participate in work experience including Front of House.

Entry requirements?

Successful Completion of Yr 1 UAL Diploma in Performing & Production Arts (Acting)(Acting TV/Film)

5 GCSE (A-C Grades/ 9-4) or equivalent.

What progression options will I have?

The Extended Diploma is the equivalent of 3 A-levels and provides all the UCAS points needed to progress onto University or Drama School. Many Miskin actors move on to major drama schools in the country including RADA, Arts Ed, Bristol Old Vic, LAMDA, LIPA, Rose Bruford, Guildhall, Central, Dartington, Mountview, Manchester MET, Oxford, East 15. Some actors choose to to stay at The Miskin for the HND course.

Tuition Fees:
16-18 - free
19+ Advanced Learning Loan - £2850
Exam and Registration Fees (payable by all aged 19 and over): £200

Other Costs (payable by all students): £75 Annual Theatre Pass

How will I be assessed?

Main assessment is through professionally relevant assignments. These are primarily practical units with supporting written work and documentation. Formal assessment will be required.
