This qualification is ideal for learners who want to develop an understanding of the essential skills required to work successfully in a business environment.
Level 2 Skills for Business is a one-year study programme providing transferable skills, knowledge and understanding that can be applied in any business setting.
The course is made up of 6 units including: -
- Business culture and responsibilities
- Produce documents in a business environment
- Solve problems in a business environment
- Work with others in a business environment
- Communicate in a business environment
- Contribute to running a project
Grades are awarded against each unit at ungraded/pass/merit/distinction.
In addition, learners will develop their ICT skills through a programme of study at Level 2. Our Study Programme includes opportunities for you to develop your English and Maths skills as required. You may be expected to complete either functional skills or GCSE qualifications as part of your course depending on your GCSE results.
What qualification will I gain?
NCFE Level 2 Diploma in Skills for Business
3 x GCSEs 9-4 which must include English Language, and 2 other academic subjects. Minimum grade for Maths is 3
What progression options will I have?
Level 2 Business-related apprenticeship (for example, in Human Resources, Marketing, Business Development)
Level 2 Business Administration apprenticeship
*BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Business OR CILEX Level 3 Diploma for Legal Secretaries
To apply for a Level 3 course, learners must pass GCSE English Language and/or GCSE Maths at grade 4+ & achieve a Distinction in NCFE Level 2 Diploma in Skills for Business

How will I be assessed?
Learners are required to create a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates achievement of 100% of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit.
