What is a T-Level?
T Levels are new courses for 16–18-year-olds which follow GCSEs and are equivalent to 3 A levels. They last for two years, are career-led, and designed to get students ready to work.
Are T-Levels classroom based?
The courses are both study and work based. Spend 80% of time in the learning environment, learning the theory and practical skills, the other 20% on an industry placement putting this into action (minimum of 315 hours on placement).
Can I get UCAS points from T-Levels?
A T Level attracts UCAS tariff points so students can use the qualification in applying for higher education.
Do T-Levels have links to employers?
Around 250 employers have been involved in developing the T Level courses, ranging from small local businesses to large multinationals. At North Kent College we currently work with many employers including Berkeley Modular Ltd, Willmott Dixon, Ebbsfleet Development Corporation and Wire Belt Company Ltd.
How are T-Levels graded?
The overall grade for the T Level will be graded as Distinction* to Pass with a separate grade for the core component graded A* to E and separate grades for each occupational specialism graded Distinction, Merit or Pass.
