Interested in fashion? This course has it all to prepare you for employment in many areas of fashion such as designer, design assistant, stylist, fashion illustrator, fashion buyer, costume designer or fashion print designer, or continue your studies at university.
The course consists of live industry led projects, research, practical skills in sewing and print workshops, pattern cutting, surface decoration and accessories. All projects are delivered by experienced staff with links to industry. There are visits to galleries and museums, plus collaborations with our beauty, hair, music and media departments to make the course vibrant, exciting and industry relevant. Students showcase their work at a live fashion show and end of year exhibition open to the public. Students who have chosen to progress to university have had a 100% success rate.
The syllabus is University of the Arts London which is the equivalent of 3 A Levels and carries more UCAS points than BTEC when applying to university. The Level 2 Fashion course provides a pathway on to the Level 3 Fashion course.
What qualification will I gain?
UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art and Design (Fashion). UCAS Points equivalent to 3 A Levels.
What progression options will I have?
Year 2 through successful completion of year 1; then Higher Education or Employment.
What costs are involved?
Central College policy applies plus £150 course contribution per year, plus materials/visits/exhibitions.
Those applicants turning 19 before their 2nd year may be liable for fees.
5 GCSE 9-4 grades or equivalent including English and Maths plus Portfolio or examples of creative work and Interview. Formal academic requirements may be waived for mature applicants but Portfolio and Interview still apply.
