Today (20 November) is World Children’s Day, a global day of action for children and by children. It’s an opportunity to listen to young voices, promote and protect children’s rights, and build a better world for every child.
The date is especially significant, marking the anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, adopted in 1989. This vital document outlines the fundamental rights all children are entitled to, including the right to education, to be heard, to play, and to grow up safe, supported and loved.
At North Kent College, we are proud to play our part in shaping the future for children by training the next generation of Early Years professionals.
Our Early Years courses equip students with the knowledge, understanding and real-world experience needed to support children during the most crucial stages of their development. Taught by experts from the sector, our courses explore how children develop holistically, academically, socially and emotionally, and how practitioners can help nurture every aspect of their growth.
Students benefit from industry placements that provide practical, hands-on learning, as well as innovative teaching approaches such as Forest School sessions, which promote curiosity, confidence and well-being through outdoor learning.
With clear progression routes into employment or higher education, our Early Years pathways open the door to fulfilling careers in nurseries, schools and beyond, all while making a lasting difference in the lives of young children.
This World Children’s Day, we’re proud to stand up for every child’s right to quality care and education – and proud to support our students who help deliver it.
