Level 3 Business Administrator Apprentice

Olivia has just completed her Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship at the College and is already working for a global law firm in London. Here she talks about the support and encouragement she received at North Kent College (NKC), and how it helped prepare her for moving into the workplace.

What made you choose to study at NKC?

I chose North Kent College because it has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality apprenticeship training and people had recommended it to me as I was sure of not going to university and I was desperate to work!

For me, the key factor was that North Kent College provides a practical, career-focused learning environment. It was also brought to my attention that the courses are structured, and the College has strong links with different organisations meaning that what is learnt there isn’t just theoretical, it is directly connected to the real working environment.

What would you say are the three best things about studying at NKC?

I would say that one of my favourite things about studying at North Kent College is that you are treated and spoken to like an adult which creates a more professional learning environment and it gave me a willingness to learn. Also, all College tutors have extensive industry experience, and they create a supportive learning environment, and it feels like they genuinely want you to succeed. Ultimately, it’s a friendly, encouraging place to study, and that makes a huge difference day‑to‑day.

How has NKC helped your career?

The College and my Tutors have hugely helped my career, I was always unsure of exactly which career route I wanted to take but by having that support I have truly found what I want to do and North Kent College allowed me the opportunity to get there through their industry connections.

Where do you now work and what's next for you?

I work at the Global Law Firm, BCLP and have just finished my apprenticeship in Jan 2026 and have now been promoted to a Legal Admin at the firm.

What has been your route getting to your current position?

My route getting to where I am now was applying for multiple Law firms in London once I had finished my Level 2 Administration for Legal and Professional Services course at NKC and going for interviews like a normal job.

Having the support of the College and their connections helped massively. Once successful in my application with BCLP, I became a Business Admin Apprentice working for the whole firm in September 2024. Having just successfully achieved my Apprenticeship I am a Legal Admin within the Real Estate Disputes team.

Would you recommend studying at the College and why?

Yes, I would definitely recommend studying at North Kent College. From my experience, it’s a place where you feel supported and encouraged, no matter what level you’re starting from. The College has a welcoming atmosphere, and the staff genuinely care about helping you succeed.

Another big reason I’d recommend it is the quality of the facilities, everything feels modern and practical, it makes a massive difference when you can learn using the same kind of equipment you’ll eventually use in the workplace.

And lastly, the College genuinely prepares you for real opportunities, everyone at the College will support you while helping you find the right path for your career desires. I also know that even though I have left the College, I would still be supported if, for example, I wanted to look for another job I know I could turn to my Tutors and they would still try to help with the numerous connections that they have.

What would be the piece of advice you would give to someone thinking of coming to North Kent College?

If I could give one piece of advice to someone thinking about coming to North Kent College, it would be don’t be afraid to just throw yourself into it!

College can feel like a big step at first, but North Kent College is one of those places where you’re genuinely supported from day one. The staff are friendly, the environment is welcoming, and you’ll quickly realise you’re not expected to know everything right away.

I’d also say make the most of the opportunities. Whether that’s using the great facilities, getting involved in events, talking to tutors, or exploring different pathways, make sure to take advantage of everything the college offers. The more you put in the more you will gain for your future career.
