Brief:
For this Mini-Project, you will need to carry out 3 designs for a Coffee Coaster. The coaster is for 1 of 2 coffee shops, so you have a choice of 2 titles, ‘The Red Roaster’ or ‘Tampa Bay’. Your coaster should include a logo based title, observational drawing/illustrations and colour. The 1st studies should be loose thumbnail studies in pencil and/or pen, exploring a range of ideas. The 2nd studies should be tighter versions of your 1st studies, introducing colour, your 3rd study should be your finished colour design, hand rendered or using creative ICT. Be sure to add your research and work from reference for your imagery and fonts, dafont.com is a great site to choose fonts to use. You can support your designs with supporting annotations to support your visual thinking.
Do not forget to bring your preliminary drawings for tasks 1 and 2, along with screen grabs of how you created your final outcome if its digital.
You will also need to bring along a portfolio of your work. You may also bring a sketchbook.
