What we do
An Executive Committee of Students from different course areas run North Kent College Students’ Union (NKCSU). Whether it's to change things within or outside of the classroom, NKCSU listens to the learner views and fights to ensure their voice is heard in the college. As well as this, they help to organise events throughout the year so that other students can enjoy their College experience just a little bit more. Things have changed for the better as a result of this and will continue to do so.
With events happening throughout the year, from charity fundraisers, to BBQs and student conferences, there really is something for everyone. Take a look at the events calendar here.
In October, we will be looking for Students to volunteer to become Executive members. Student’s that are successful receive a FREE uniform, FREE NUS Extra Card
, FREE trip to Thorpe Park and Bonus Points on the NKC Ambassador scheme. Past students that have been involved with the Union have been able to use the skills gained from their experience to progress further, either working with Student Unions at university, or within the working environment of their career.
Student Ambassador Scheme
The Student Ambassador Scheme is for students who share a passion for college and feel able to share their knowledge. Student Ambassadors help at various internal and external events promoting college whilst gaining valuable experience. Whilst supporting the college, the Ambassadors will gain points, which turn into prizes throughout the year.
You can also get an NUS Extra Discount Card
as the SU is part of the NUS. The National Union of Students
fights for students rights across the UK, and you can help be part of this. You can get involved with some of the campaigns going on around the country and feel like you are making a different to you and your fellow students education. Find out about what they do more here.
