Young actors on stage

Today (Friday 27 March) , a global occasion first launched in 1961 by the International Theatre Institute (ITI) to honour the vital role theatre plays in culture, creativity, and connection.

Each year, a distinguished voice from the global theatre community pens the International Message – a reflection on theatre’s significance. This message is translated into over 50 languages and shared in theatres worldwide before performances, reminding audiences of the power of performance.

At North Kent College, we are proud to support the next generation of theatre professionals through our vibrant programmes delivered at the Miskin Theatre, based at both our Dartford and Tonbridge campuses.

The Miskin Theatre boasts impressive, purpose-built facilities – including three dance studios, a dedicated musical theatre space, and our very own professional-standard theatre, which hosts our critically praised in-house productions.

Our Dance and Musical Theatre courses offer exceptional training across performance disciplines. Students benefit from guidance and mentoring by experienced industry professionals, with many going on to secure work directly after graduating.

If Acting is your thing our industry professional theatres and studios provide the perfect environment to train in your chosen specialism. Working as a Theatre Company on a diverse range of productions, you will learn skills and be provided with the very best learning experience possible.

If you’re more drawn to the magic behind the scenes, our Technical Theatre courses are ideal for aspiring set designers, stage technicians, lighting and sound engineers, and costume or effects specialists. You'll gain real-world experience while working in a fully equipped professional environment.
