Today (15 April) is World Art Day, an international celebration launched by the International Association of Art (IAA) to coincide with the birthday of one of history’s most iconic artists – Leonardo da Vinci.

The aim of the day is to honour the vital role art plays in society, not only as a form of creative expression but as a force that can inspire change, spark dialogue, and unite communities across the globe.

From painting and sculpture to digital design and photography, art enriches our daily lives and offers people of all backgrounds the chance to share their voice with the world. Whether it educates, provokes thought, or simply brings joy, today is all about recognising its lasting impact.

At North Kent College, we’re proud to offer a wide range of Art and Design courses that help students develop both their creative and technical skills.

Our facilities include spacious studios, a ceramic kiln, a dedicated screen-printing workshop, and expert teaching from working artists with a broad range of experience.

So if you're inspired by the power of creativity, World Art Day is the perfect time to start exploring your next step.
