Today (Wednesday 22 April) is Administrative Professionals Day, a chance to recognise the essential contribution that administrative support staff make to the smooth running of workplaces across the globe.Â
From personal assistants and receptionists to legal secretaries and client service reps, admin professionals are the unsung heroes who keep everything ticking. Whether scheduling meetings, managing communications or creating essential documents, their work is vital to almost every sector.Â
The origins of the day go back to the 1950s, when a growing demand for skilled office staff prompted the creation of National Secretaries Week in the US. Over the decades, the name and scope evolved to better reflect the wide range of roles and responsibilities modern admin professionals hold today.Â
Here at North Kent College, we’re proud to help train the next generation of administrative professionals through our Legal and Office Support courses. These courses are designed to give students the practical IT and business skills needed to thrive in a corporate environment.Â
You’ll gain confidence in everything from document production and office systems to communication and legal terminology, with a strong focus on proofreading and professional writing. Our courses also include insights into civil, criminal and employment law, ideal if you’re aiming for a career in legal administration.Â
Our graduates go on to secure full-time employment, apprenticeships with top law firms in London, or continue their education through further qualifications.Â
