Today (Tuesday 9 September) is International Beauty Day, a global celebration of beauty in all its forms, and the talented professionals who help us feel our best, inside and out.
Established by CIDESCO, the Comité International d'Esthétique et de Cosmétologie, this annual event shines a spotlight on the importance of skin health, self-care, and wellbeing. It also recognises the dedication and skill of those working in the beauty and wellness industry, from aestheticians and stylists to skincare specialists and therapists.
At its core, International Beauty Day encourages everyone to embrace their own unique beauty, while respecting and appreciating the beauty in others. It’s a day that reminds us how empowering and transformative beauty treatments can be, not just in appearance, but in confidence and wellbeing too.
At North Kent College, we’re proud to support the next generation of professionals in this exciting and rewarding industry.
Whether you choose to study Spa & Beauty Therapy, Hair & Media Make-up, or Theatrical Make-up, you’ll build hands-on experience with real clients in our on-site commercial salons, spa, and make-up studios.
Our courses cover everything from facial treatments, manicures, and waxing to tanning, nail art, and body massage.
You’ll have the opportunity to progress into advanced treatments such as facial and body electrical therapies and spa therapy, while make-up artists will gain experience in body art design, photographic make-up and working on film sets, theatre productions and photo shoots. It’s a real-world environment that prepares you for a real-world career.
