Today (November 13) marks the anniversary of the Broadway debut of The Lion King musical.
Renowned for its unforgettable songs, striking costumes and powerful storyline, the show has become a global icon in the world of musical theatre.
Adapted from Disney’s beloved animated film, its stage version stands out for its breathtaking visual design and imaginative choreography. Featuring more than 200 puppets and intricately hand-painted costumes, The Lion King offers a fully immersive theatre experience made possible by a team of talented performers, designers, dancers and backstage crew.
It has since gone on to become one of the most financially successful stage productions of all time, and holds the record as the highest-grossing Broadway show, generating nearly £2 billion in revenue.
