National Hospitality Day returns today (18 September), giving the nation a chance to show its support for one of the UK’s most vibrant, creative and resilient industries.
This annual event, spearheaded by Hospitality Action and supported by key industry charities and associations, is a nationwide thank you to the pubs, hotels, restaurants and catering outlets that have worked tirelessly through the pandemic and beyond. From fuelling frontline workers to feeding communities in crisis, the hospitality sector has been a lifeline when it mattered most.
On this day, venues across the country will be pulling out all the stops. Think: garden hog roasts, gala dinners, live music, or simply a warm welcome and free nibbles. But behind the fun is a more serious message: hospitality matters, and it’s full of opportunity.
At North Kent College, we’re proud to train the next generation of chefs, event managers, hotel supervisors and front-of-house professionals, helping students build real careers in an industry that never stands still with a range of courses covering both Hospitality and Catering and Events and Hospitality.
You’ll train in industry-standard kitchens, modern restaurants open to the public, and get stuck into live events and professional placements that mirror the fast-paced, real-world hospitality environment.
