Today (27 April) marks International Design Day, a global celebration of the role that design plays in shaping the world around us.Â
The day commemorates the founding of the International Council of Design on this date in 1963, and since 1995, it has served as a platform to recognise the value of design in addressing real-world challenges. Until 2020, the occasion was known as World Design Day.Â
International Design Day encourages designers to reflect on how their work can support community wellbeing, embrace diversity, and offer innovative solutions to local and global needs.Â
