Sports students racing between cones

Every July, National School Sports Week (6-12 July 2026), highlights the positive impact that sport and physical activity have on young people across the UK.

Sport has the power to inspire, motivate and bring people together. Whether it’s competing on the pitch, improving fitness, coaching others or working behind the scenes in the sports industry, the opportunities within sport are wider than ever before.

At North Kent College, our Sport courses are designed to help students turn their passion for sport into practical skills, qualifications and future career opportunities.

Taking part in sport provides benefits far beyond physical fitness. It helps to develop important life skills including communication, resilience, leadership and teamwork.

National School Sports Week highlights how regular activity can improve mental wellbeing, boost confidence and encourage healthy lifestyles, especially for young people preparing for their future careers.

For many students, sport also opens doors to exciting industries such as coaching, fitness, sports therapy, teaching, sports science and professional sport.

You can study Sports at North Kent College. Our Sports courses combine classroom learning with practical, hands-on experience to help students develop both technical knowledge and real-world skills.

Sports courses are available at Dartford and Tonbridge including fitness coaching, personal training and sport science – all designed to help students build confidence while learning in supportive and professional environments.

If you’re passionate about sport, fitness and helping others achieve their goals, our Sports courses could be the perfect starting point for your future career.
