One young female doing another young female's mark up

Looking to unwind and de-stress? You’re in luck, National Spa Week is here (30 October to 5 November), offering the perfect excuse to prioritise some well-earned self-care.

Led by the UK Spa Association, this week is all about connecting with your inner serenity and highlights the many physical and mental health benefits of visiting spas and salons from easing muscle tension to improving mood and wellbeing.

With its genesis in Roman times, and from the Latin ‘Salus per Aquam’, which translates to ‘health from water’, spas were linked originally to remedial springs. It was only later that the connotation of relaxation emerged when Elizabeth Arden launched the first day spa in 1910.

Now modernised, the introduction of specific treatments has catapulted the industry to focus on strategic ways to simultaneously boost healthy bodily regeneration and alleviate stress.

But did you know we offer a host of spa and beauty treatments here at North Kent College?

Our Spa & Beauty studios at our Tonbridge and Dartford campuses are open to the public and treatments are provided by students under the expert supervision of their lecturers.

This means we are able to offer a range of treatments, with high levels of service, at a fraction of the cost you would find in a spa or salon.

These include manicures, pedicures, waxing, make up, eye treatments, facials, massages and much more!

Our salons are open Monday to Friday. If you are interested in finding out more visit the Spa and Beauty page of our website, or contact the salon closest to you: Dartford - 01322 629428 or Tonbridge - 01732 372811.

If you are interested in studying beauty therapy we offer a wealth of courses at our Dartford and Tonbridge campuses. To find out more visit the Beauty Therapy subject page of our website.

You can also come along to our Tonbridge Campus Open Event on 6 November, which runs from 3.30pm to 7.30pm.
