The T Level in Construction and Civil Engineering is a two year Level 3 programme, designed to be the entry point for an exciting and challenging career in designing infrastructure, such as bridges, roads and tunnels, power stations and public works buildings. Your teaching staff will be qualified Civil Engineers and Architects.

Integral to your studies in college you will undertake a mandatory work placement of 325 hours. This work placement is intended to give you real experience of work amongst qualified professionals in a commercial environment and an opportunity to work with potential future employers. We place learners with a variety of Tier 1 employers, and this also opens the door to higher education, degree apprenticeships and employment when you finish your course. You will be fully supported by a Work Placement Officer to help you to navigate this new and exciting world.

In the first year of this programme, you will undertake a core module that introduces the fundamentals of design, surveying and planning in professional construction. You will be assessed through a variety of external examinations and your employer set project, which will be unique to your employer. You will also be given additional essential employability skills, such as AutoCAD, REVIT and other associated digital design software. This is integrated with robotic and manual total stations for surveying, LIDAR and surveying drones.

In the second year of this programme, you will complete your occupational specialism of Civil Engineering. The programme will combine material science and testing as well as design testing. You will undertake a variety of visits to working construction sites and be given the opportunity to meet with employers in the professional construction industry. You will also meet with a plethora of other specialists who come to the college specifically to share their experiences.

When you complete this programme, you will be ready to take on challenges in higher education, degree apprenticeships and/or employment and join the Construction industry in the UK as a professional. This industry turns over ?370 billion per year.
