North Kent College is expanding the Lee Stafford Hairdressing Academy offer which brings world class hair education to their Tonbridge campus!
Duncan Weetman, Head of Hospitality and Catering invited local hospitality businesses to attend his business breakfast at The View Restaurant, Tonbridge Campus. The aim of the breakfast was to discuss the Culinary Academy’s vision of developing the next generation of hospitality professionals through meaningful partnerships with hospitality businesses leading to apprenticeships and employment.
North Kent College alongside Berkely Group arranged guest speakers Louis Smith, Berkeley Graduated Apprentice, and Belinda Jones Assoc CIPD, People Assistant to visit our level one Carpentry and Joinery students at our Gravesend Campus to give them an insight on Berkeley apprenticeships and working in the construction industry.
Level 4 Graphic Design & Illustration student, from North Kent College, Louis Packham designed a Diversity banner which is featured at local Hospital, Darent Valley.
The Royal Engineers Reserves visited our Level 1, 2 and 3 Public Services and Level 3 Policing students to provide information and advice to our learners. The Policing groups had the opportunity to ask the soldiers about Army life and how a reservist life can fit around a policing lifestyle.
Hermione Burns, current Level 3 Extended diploma 79 Sports Mentoring student at North Kent College, placed silver in the recent British Shooting Shotgun Series Grand Final at the East Yorkshire Shooting Ground. This was the last competition of the season, and the British Champion 2022 Trophy was up for grabs!
Policing Level 3 student Lewis Gilbert is the first of the force’s cadets to be honoured in this way and joins young people from the other uniformed forces who were selected in recognition of their duty and devotion to the community.
Alumni Emma Sampson made a return visit to the College to speak to our Level 3 students to share her experience, specifically her Higher Education journey. Whilst attending North Kent College she studied Level 2 Hair and Media Makeup then progressed onto Level 3 Theatrical Makeup.
North Kent College partnered up with BAE systems to organise a fascinating talk from their team. One of BAE System’s key representatives visited to speak with the engineering students about many potential career opportunities available within the company and sector.
