This course is based on an industrial model via our production company, Miskin Music.
Miskin Music produces a diverse array of live and recorded music productions. Trainees participate in 'real world' professional processes with an emphasis on attracting audiences and consumers. ?Music producers will undertake projects which mirror the demands of this exciting and ever changing industry. ?Evolving areas such as viral marketing, and the productive use of social networking are central to our working ethos.
Trainees will also develop and refine an online portfolio/personal website, increasingly seen as a vital resource for progression either into university or employment. A recognition and understanding of career paths and employment opportunities are embedded in our work, offering trainees an insight into sound design, composing for film/tv, live sound engineering, and music production.
Projects/processes include; Production & Sequencing Techniques Music Composition & Production for Film/TV Audio Books Soundscaping and Sound Design Producing and marketing your recordings Live Performance Multi-Channel Mixing and Production Viral Marketing and Social Networking Live Sound Engineering
Equivalent to 3 A Levels, a total of 72-168 UCAS points, depending on grades achieved).
The Miskin experience will support you in becoming a well-trained, clear-thinking artist ready to take your first steps into the industry.
You will also develop the skills that all employers are looking for, including teamwork, self-confidence, communication skills, self-motivation, and the ability to meet targets.

Entry Requirements
Minimum of four GCSEs grade 4 - 9 including English and preferably maths and one creative subject. Or an equivalent Level 2 Qualification in Music at merit or above. You will need a positive school report/recommendation/reference from your school/tutor.
You will be required to attend an interview where you will be required to present a short recording/piece (2 mins approx) you have produced or contributed to in a production capacity. Your interview will require you to outline your background in the subject and your relevant previous musical/production experience or activities.

How will I be assessed?
All of your work will follow a vocational scenario or context that simulates a real-world situation. This course is 100 % coursework. You will present your work in a range of formats. You will be assessed on your research, development and experimentation and final outcomes and you will be encouraged to develop your work and professional practice through evaluation and self-reflection. All units will be graded against the Assessment Objectives set by?UAL, with the final unit in year 2 being graded either a Pass, Merit or Distinction, which will become your overall grade for the qualification.
