Music Performance & Technology


Miskin Music offers an amazing opportunity to train in a professional environment as a musician, producer or sound technician through our Music Performance or Technology pathway. You will work alongside a diverse range of experienced industry practitioners in creating public performances and recordings. These will mirror the demands of the exciting and dynamic music industry. 

As well as your own performances, you will work alongside the Miskin Theatre, dance, and media companies, which will provide wider appreciation of the creative arts industry. As a music technician you will gain an insight into sound design, producing and composing for the moving image, live sound techniques, and audio production and recording skills.  All of our productions embed business and management principles, which are essential for delivering and creating successful music events and recordings. 

The Miskin Voice is an exciting course tailored to the needs of the contemporary singer. The course is available at Level 2 and Level 3, and covering singing styles from pop to rock, R'n'B to Soul. Miskin Voice will allow you to train in professional, live and studio environments.

What will I learn? 

Practical skills and techniques, marketing and career development, with assessment via projects designed to an industrial model. 

What qualification will I gain? 

You can gain the UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music Technology or Music Performance , equivalent to a total of 3 A-Levels. A one-year Level 2 UAL Diploma, with a lower academic entry requirement, is also available. For explanations of our qualifications, please see our Qualification Explained page.

What progression options will I have? 

65% of our learners go on to university, however you will also be equipped with skills to take you directly into the music industry. 

What costs are involved? 

Annual Company Contribution- £75 (including Annual Ticket Pass to all internal productions) payable on Enrolment Day.

Entry requirements?
