A student-run restaurant at North Kent College has taken the top spot on TripAdvisor, being ranked the number one restaurant in Tonbridge out of 93 venues.
The View Restaurant, based at the College’s Tonbridge campus, is entirely operated by students from its Catering Academy, offering diners high-quality food, professional service and exceptional value, all while helping train the next generation of hospitality professionals.
Located on the third floor of the campus, The View is a modern dining space with panoramic views across the Kent countryside, creating a unique experience that continues to impress visitors.
Students are responsible for every aspect of the restaurant, from preparing and cooking dishes to delivering front-of-house service. All activity is supported and supervised by experienced industry professionals, ensuring standards remain consistently high.
The number one ranking reflects a growing stream of positive reviews from customers. One recent visitor said: “Fabulous food and excellent service by wonderful staff. Far exceeded my expectations.”
Another commented: “The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented – a real credit to the catering learners…a genuinely enjoyable place to eat.”

The View Restaurant is open during term time on Thursdays and Fridays for lunch, with monthly evening dining events running throughout the year. Booking is recommended due to high demand.
