Students from North Kent College joined hundreds of peers from across the county to compete in the annual KFE4Skills competition - a celebration of vocational excellence organised by Kent Further Education.

More than 300 learners from North Kent College, East Kent Colleges Group and MidKent College took part in the three-day skills competition, putting their technical abilities to the test in a range of industry-focused challenges.

The competition is offficially endorsed by WorldSkills UK, the global movement championing excellence in technical education, and aims to give students the opportunity to showcase practical talents and prepare for real-life workplace experiences.

This year’s event took place across three locations; North Kent College’s Tonbridge Campus, EKC Canterbury College and MidKent College’s Maidstone Campus. Students competed across a wide range of disciplines including trades, creative industries and professional services.

Learners demonstrated their skills in realistic, industry-style environments, competing against peers from other colleges while gaining valuable experience that reflects their chosen careers.

Stacie Collings, Assistant Principal at North Kent College, said:

“Skills competitions like KFE4Skills provide an excellent platform for learners to demonstrate their technical ability, creativity and professionalism in an industry-style environment. Bringing together students from colleges across Kent highlights the exceptional talent within further education and allows learners to challenge themselves while building confidence in their skills.

“It is inspiring to see so many students take pride in their craft and represent their colleges with such professionalism.”
